Let it snow!

Ai, I can’t believe it has been eight months since the last posts. We ended 2020 in the way we finished the last post, with a cup of tea and nothing more. All fireworks in the Netherlands were banned as quarantine continued.

In the first month of this year, we had a shimmer of hope. Vaccines were ready and shipped to a lot of countries (also to us), yeah. However, a new variant of the virus was confirmed (British variant), and the Dutch Government imposed a hard lockdown.

Now it is February, and we are still in quarantine. Though it has been tough on a lot of people, I sure can’t complain too much. I have a home, my human has a job, we’re healthy, and we still can enjoy short walks.

Today we had a little weather treat. It snowed a lot. The weather expectancy was about 20 cm of snow (7.87 inches). As a bear of only 40 cm (14.75 inches), I felt a bit threatened.
Apparently, I was right to feel a bit threatened as the snow was towering over me. But as a resilient bear, I picked up a shovel and started shovelling away.

Of course, I also had a lot of fun in the snow. I had a snowball fight with Shelliemay, got hit in the snout… and I turned myself into a giant snowball.

All with all, I had a great day. It is really hard to stay motivated, and I miss travelling more and more each day. Still, I have hope. Vaccines are finally here! Slowly we return to life as it was before. Together we hang on!

Write to you soon!
